Traveling Participatory Works
This season, I’m traveling through Europe with a handful of participatory works—each designed to meet a place through perception, writing, and shared experience. Some are fully formed. Others leave space to be shaped in dialogue with the site and community. I’m open to private hosts, public venues, festivals, galleries, gardens, and spaces in between.
If something stirs, reach out. I welcome to invitations, conversations, and unexpected encounters.
-
The Box: A solitary writing ritual guided by immersive audio and housed in a minimalist object. The Box is a living artwork that shifts perception to reveal inner meaning—inviting stillness, sensing, and a deeper encounter with self. Designed for one participant at a time, it travels lightly and installs easily in any quiet space. | individual | 1 hour | up to 8 people/day
-
The Sense Languages: Perception-based workshops entering through sound, sight, or smell. Each session explores a sensory gateway as a portal into language and the subconscious. | group (8–10) | 2 hours per workshop | available as individual workshop or as a series
-
Parts Divided: A participatory performance that guides people into the many voices within—those inherited, imagined, silenced, and unknown. Through writing, somatic activation, and interpretive dance, it asks: How do you know which voice is truly your own? And can you sense which one gives rise to your impulses? | group (8–20) | 2–3 hours
Abre Tu Boca Writing Circle: An extension of Amanda’s Mexico-based social practice project, Abre Tu Boca. Each session begins with a prompt that drops you into your story, revealing characters, scenes, and voices that lie deep within. The prompt activates your inner voice and the writing flows out; you simply catch it with the page. The circle is fully guided in Amanda’s methodology, developed over three years, including active listening and feedback prompts to support the sharing process. | group (2–10) or private | 1.5–2 hours
-
Writing Safari: A guided writing experience that transforms public or semi-public spaces into story-rich terrains. Whether moving through a plaza or writing from inside a café, participants use ambient texture, character, and atmosphere as narrative material. Prompts delivered in real-time spark presence, perspective shifts, and shared reflection. | group (8–20) | 1.5–2 hours
Ménage à Cuatro: Cross-disciplinary, multi-lingual jam. Drawing, writing, live music and dance flow in continuous exchange. Each round begins with a prompt—visual, verbal, movement, or sonic—and moves through the others, each act a stimulus for the next. Equal parts intimate, unpredictable, and generative. | group (20 or more) | 1.5-2.5 hours

A growing body of language-based installations and immersions shaped by the spirit of place. These works are adapted in collaboration with local geography, context, and community. For an example, see Messages from the Interior.
