Host The Box
A unique, one-time experience, carried by the artist.
The Box is a poetic, one-hour writing ritual housed inside a minimalist object. It invites individuals into a quiet, sensory space where movement, perception, and language open new portals of awareness.
This summer (June–August 2025), the original prototype of The Box will travel with the artist across Europe. This is a rare opportunity to host a living, evolving artwork—and to be in direct conversation with its creator.
Participants enter the space one at a time for a solitary, audio-guided experience.
They move around the box, write, observe, and begin to transform the questions they carry.
Over the course of 1-7 days, a community can engage with The Box through scheduled individual appointments. At the close, the artist offers an optional integrative group talk to reflect on what emerged.
Box participant: "I discovered that putting yourself in a box can get you out of the box you’ve put yourself in. Open The Box. Find yourself inside."

This is an invitation to notice differently. To sit with what hasn’t yet spoken. And to let it say what it needs to say.

You might host The Box if…
You run a gallery, residency, or creative space interested in relational or participatory art
You curate healing or somatic spaces and want to bring a new modality of reflection
You’re organizing a festival or gathering rooted in transformation, writing, or presence
You simply feel a yes, and want to know more
What it’s like inside…

The Box has been a truly mind altering experience. I came into The Box wanting to fully engage with what Amanda had created, to allow my mind to cease its chatter and do what her voice told me to do. I discovered that putting yourself in a box can get you out of the box you’ve put yourself in. It has been a few months now since my Box session, and my understanding of the experience has deepened. I revisit what I learned and apply it in my daily life. For me, The Box experience is one I can replay mentally like a meditation. It’s provided me with another technique for self-soothing and self-reflection. I suspect that everyone will have a truly unique experience. Open The Box. Find yourself inside.

What struck me was how playful and creative I became in the experience. And how subtly it encouraged my perspective to shift. It’s a full human experience - your thoughts, senses, and imagination all rolled into one hour with one little box.

It was very interesting and introspective to be there alone in front of that small box and see how what comes out of it actually comes from within me. Opening it was a profound reflection on the issues most prevalent in my mind and body at the moment. I found it very therapeutic, giving me light on different circumstances that I was living, and it helped to change the approach I had of them — of course, through the magic of the metaphor inside the box. I realized that we can always turn things around and find the perspective that we like the most and that best nourishes our understanding of reality. I would definitely recommend The Box to others, because there is just one box but millions of possible ways to fill it. Each person has one.

I was surprised by the spiritual dimension that became present when engaging in this new way. My writing felt on the edge of my truth. I explored some new territory. I had some new insights into the question I pondered. I felt more connected to my body than I usually do when I write. And I felt another perspective - that of the question in the background - acting as projection onto an object - The Box. I was also surprised by how much my writing flowed. I wrote so much in what felt like a short amount of time. I realized how prolific I can be with writing when I get my mind out of the way.
